Management:
For cut worm
The larvae can be killed after collecting from soil near the cut plants in morning.
Dursban or Pyrifos 20 EC 5 ml/liter water should be sprayed especially at the base of plants to control cutworms.
For ear worm
The larvae could be killed after collecting from the infested cobs.
Cypermethrin (Ricord 10 EC/Cymbush 10 EC/Fenom 10 EC) @ 2 ml/litre water could be sprayed to a control this pest.
For Stem borer
Marshall 20 EC or Diazinon 60 EC @ 2ml/litre water could be sprayed properly to control the pest.
Furadan 5G or Carbofuran 5G @ 20kg/ha should be applied on top of the plants in such a way so that the granules stay between the stem and leaf base. Such type of application of insecticides is known as whorl application.
