Major diseases and Management : a) Anthracnose
Management:
1. Use of disease free seed.
2. Spraying Bavistin/Knowin at initial stage @ 0.3%.
3. Seed treatment (Vitavax 200/Bavistin @ 2 g/kg seed).
b) Mosaic virus
Management:
1. Infected plants should be removed and destroy
2. Use of disease free seed.
3. Spray Malathion @ 2 ml and Chess @ 1 ml/liter water for aphid control at 7 days interval and 15 days interval respectively.
Major insect/pest and Management : a) Shoot and fruit borer
Management:
1. Clean cultivation.
2. Removal of alternate host, especially cottons near the lady’s finger field.
3. Release of Trichogramma evanescens West and Apantalis parasitoids for its control.
4. During the severe infestation, spraying of Cypermethrin 10 EC @ 1 ml/liter of water of Fenvalerate 20 EC @ 0.5 ml/liter of water at 15 days interval should be done.
