Identifying character : The red amaranth variety is tolerant to common insect pests and diseases, Short duration crop (30-40 days), Erect plant with oval leaves, Pink coloured leaves and stem. Stems remain succulent even up to 40 days.

Year of release : 1996
Crop duration : 30-40 days (for leaf) and 110-130 days (for seed)
Suitable area : All over Bangladesh

Harvesting time : time of the year depending upon the sowing time
Major diseases and Management : a) White rust

Management:
1. Spraying with Calixin 10 ml or Tilt 5 ml at an interval of 10 days till control.
2. Judicious fertilizer application and timely irrigation.
Major insect/pest and Management : a) Aphid

Management:
1. At initial stage, infected leaves and insects can be controlled by hand.
2. Spraying neem seed Kernel @ 1 kg half crashed seem seed/10 liter of water after 12 hours of soaking
3. Conservation of natural enemies especially different
