Major diseases and Management : a) Damping off
Management:
1. Soil sterilization by Formaldehyde with 50 times water up to 4// soil depth.
2. Seeds should be treated with Captan @ 1 g per kg seeds.
3. Spraying of 1% Bordeaux mixture at an interval of 8-10 days of sowing.

b) Bacterial wilt
Management:
1. Use of resistant varieties.
2. Clean and well drained land.
3. Grafting with resistant Solanum root stock

c) Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV)
Management:
1. Rouging out of mosaic affected plants as soon as observed.
2. Use of resistant varieties.
Major insect/pest and Management : a) White fly
Management:
1. Use of yellow trap or covering of seed bed with 60 mesh net/mosquito net.
2. Spraying of Admire 200 SL @ 0.5 ml per liter of water.
3. Late planting.
4. NSKE @ 10 kg/ 10 L of water soaking over night.

b) Tomato fruit warm
Management:
1. Use of sex pheromone trap.
2. Biological control with Trichogramma chilouis @ 40,000-45,000/ha per week.
3. Apply NSKE @ 50 g/L of soaking over night (12 hours).
4. Spraying with Kinalux/Deviquin @ 1 ml/L of water at 10 days interval.
